Kyrgyz Nomad Trail

Program

1. Creating a Network of local communities, individuals, businesses, initiatives and other programs, specifically those who engage in sustainable and community focused practices connecting them to the KNT (Kyrgyz Nomad Trail), supporting and promoting/training them in sustainable tourism practices, and through the trail connecting travelers in Kyrgyzstan to them.

2. Through the vast reach and spread of the trail, we will create a much wider influence of hikers and travelers, thus easing some of the pressure from overly visited areas and expanding the positive economical and social effect of tourism to distant and less advantaged communities who choose to be a part of this network.

3. Promoting ownership of the natural environment through the understanding that nature brings tourism and economic growth, and the shared ownership of being a part of the KNT.

4. Minimizing overgrazing and other activities that are harmful to the environment by promoting sustainable tourism.

5. Increase tourism to Kyrgyzstan as a whole by creating this unique epic adventure and turning it into a recognized brand name

6. Promoting outdoor activities, hiking and trekking, connecting people to nature and people.

7. Increase awareness to natural protected areas, parks and reservation as well as sustainable and other positive project happening around Kyrgyzstan by incorporating them as a part of the trail, working with NGO’s, non profit’s and other organizations and “shining a light on then” and their activities on the KNT’s platforms thus promoting there activities.

8. Gather and share cultural and other knowledge, preserving and promoting traditional heritage.
