Jenga Jamaa – Build the community

Create a space to train youth, women, and teenage mothers for different skills, enhancing guidelines of success for their livelihoods as talent development and jobs creation.

Improve living standards by tackling poverty and unemployment in high-risk communities, a desire to increase local capacities, and provide opportunities through self-resilience with improved income as life changes.

 

By the end of a hall construction project, we expect the following results:

  1. To bring youth refugees together with a common goal hence building a peaceful full relationship within the community in settlement and being able to appreciate each other’s culture
  2. Youth Access a vocational training center
  3. To empower youth for income generation
  4. Strengthening of the operational capacity of YAREN.
  5. YAREN’s reporting performance is assured.
  6. Availability and easy working conditions.
  7. The capacity of at least 3600 youth, teenage mothers, women, girls school drop-out both youth men and girls will be enhanced or develop for gainful self-reliance and livelihood promoted.
  8. At least 3600 youth, teenage mothers, women, and girls school drop-out both youth men and girls have been equipped with life skills, body, and advocacy skills to advocate for the development and influence their own development options as innovation.
  9. At least 3600 are provided with information that links both the youth and vulnerable refugees to development initiatives and the private sector through non-formal actors.

28 participants from 6 nations reached through MHALI Phase 1 (April 16, 2026), YAREN's first formal community MHPSS event.

2

18 active learners are enrolled across ELFA (English Language for Adults) and Entrepreneurship training as of May 2026, with two curriculum levels operational.

3

6-person core staff team formally constituted with employment contracts and probationary frameworks.
