Ending child marriage and gender-based violence by empowering adolescent girls and young women to fulfill their true potentials through full participation in, and positive contribution to, the socioeconomic lives and political arenas of South Sudan.
Bor County, Twic East County and Duk County, Jonglei State, South Sudan
1. Provide access to better education, quality healthcare, trauma awareness, adequate gender protection, and robust legal aid services and policies for ending child marriage and gender-based violence. In doing so we break down the economic and structural drivers that act as barriers to growth.
2. Empower adolescent girls and young women with skills and knowledge to become agents of change by helping them to envision and forge their own pathways in life and thus realize their full potential.
3. Mobilize families and engage communities in combatting biased traditional practices and customary norms that previously perpetuated the practice of child marriage and gender-based violence.
4. The Mentorship/Coaching Program: Through the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) project being funded by CARE International, we have mentored and coached 100 girl beneficiaries. This program aims to empower and inspire adolescent girls, build their self-confidence, and strengthen their life dreams to become agents of positive change, envisioning, and forging their own pathways in life, sparking their interest in non-traditional careers for women in South Sudan.
3 high school girls currently being supported, with full academic scholarships.
100 girls mentored in Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, and Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management.
